PTSA News

Our PTSA has many positions open for the 2022-23 school year.

We must fill these positions to run these important events/programs for our school.

You can share the role with a friend for any of the open positions. If you are interested in learning more, please email the 2022-23 PTSA co-presidents, Andrea and Jennifer.

  • Academic Support: help with special events and projects of your choosing, such as Game Night, Marathon, etc.
  • Fundraising Chair or Auction Committee: Help plan our fall school auction and other fundraising events
  • Walk/Bike to School Week: Coordinate communication to families/students and treats for this event in the fall

School Events & Programs
It's Almost Summer! Chalk/Art Walk All School Community Night on Wed, June 8th at 5pm, Wear Orange!

It's almost summer and that calls for a celebration! Wednesday, June 8th at 5pm (please note this *updated date/time*) is our all school social and chalk/art walk evening of community fun and friendship. New Lakeview families joining us in the fall (such as new kindergarten families or any other grade) are warmly invited; please spread the word! You are invited to wear orange, the color of friendship to the event. Come and spread the love!

Order Your School Yearbook Today; Order Deadline is Mon, June 13th

Yearbooks! Get your yearbooks!  We recommend ordering one per student so each child has their own. Yearbooks are distributed at the end of the year class parties where they are signed by classmates. You can order your yearbook here and the deadline to purchase is Monday, June 13. Please do not hesitate to email Mrs. Cue, the school counselor for financial assistance with yearbooks if you need it; we want everyone to have a yearbook!

Choir Concert on Thurs, June 9th at 7pm (at KiMS)

Our 4th and 5th graders in the Lakeview choir are excited to share special music with you at the end of the year choir concert. No tickets are required to attend; the show starts at 7pm on Thursday, June 9th at the Commons area of Kirkland Middle School (KiMS). All are welcome to attend.

Egg Drop Fun on Tues, June 14th and Your Help Needed!

Lakeview's beloved Egg Drop science event is on Tuesday, June 14 during the school day. Students can still turn participation forms until June 8 (if they have not already handed in the form to their teacher or the office). Kirkland Fire Department will be here to help drop the eggs from their awesome crane truck, but we need some extra help organizing that day to keep everything running smoothly! If you are able to help at any point in the day, please sign up here; please contact PE teacher Mr. Owens with any questions or additional ways to help.

5th Grade Celebration Ceremony and Pool Party, June 16th

5th graders will have a celebration ceremony on Thursday, June 16 (9:30-10:30am) in the Lakeview gym and family/friends are invited to attend. Following the ceremony, 5th grade students, teachers and family chaperons will walk to Peter Kirk Park for a picnic lunch and pool party from 12-3pm. They will return by 3:40pm for school dismissal (there will be no dismissals allowed from the pool location). Questions or interest to volunteer? Please contact fifth grade parents, Andrea and Jessica. Congratulations 5th graders and families on this milestone as you enter middle school!

End of the Year Class Parties and Last Day of School

Be on the lookout for information from your student's teacher about end of the year class parties and permission slips, etc.

Parent help still needed for class parties. A few of the grade-level volunteer signups are here;

The last day of the school is Friday, June 17th and is a school half day (12:20pm pickup).

Thank You, Lakeview!
In Case You Missed it, Here's a Recap of a Few Recent Events:
Read-A-Thon Fundraiser

Thank you for your continuing financial support of our school; while the Read-A-Thon fundraiser is officially over, you can make a donation to the PTSA anytime to support the school. We'd love to cover school supplies for all students again this fall and more.

As part of the Read-a-Thon and in celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in May, various Lakeview families also joined library time to share a special book of their cultural heritage and celebrate the diversity in the Lakeview community.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week
Bravo for "Neverland" School Play

If you are interested in photos/video from the school play, please email Gemma, our PTSA Communications Chair, for more information.

A Night of Spectacular Science at the Science Fair

We had over 160+ science presenters proudly sharing their learning with the school community. Students also saw a liquids experiment, learned how to make their own mason beehives, and enjoyed demonstrations from the LWHS robotics team.
