Lakeview PTSA is excited to bring back the Math Program, which offers challenges and competitions for all Lakeview students.

Math Challenge (Bi-Weekly)

Math challenge

Math Challenge is on this year! This is a free math enrichment program offered to all students at Lakeview. The purpose of this program is to entice, engage and challenge students to solve interesting math problems while strengthening their math fundamentals, critical thinking, problem solving skills and confidence in math.

Students can also involve their families to help and engage in a fun discussion to solve math problems.

How to participate:

Math Challenge #10 is now available. Click here to access!
Deadline for the challenge: Thursday, Feb 20th (no later than 3pm). Please note late submissions will no longer be accepted. You must submit by the deadline!
Submit your answers here or drop off your work in the dropbox placed in the library - digital submissions are preferred!
Math Challenge #11 will be available Feb 20th and due Mar 6th, 2026.

Rewards/Prizes:

Completing 5 or 10 problem sets - TBD prizes
Completing ALL 15 problem sets - TBD prizes + Certificate

Math Competitions

Math Competitions were a big hit last year and we're bringing them back!

Math competitions are competitive events where participants complete a math test to win prizes. The biggest difference between classwork and math competition questions is the problem-solving process. Competitions questions typically are built on skills that your student already understands, the ability to digest word questions and identify what skills to apply is the differentiator.

Math contests help foster interest in math; problem solving skills and encourage students to value intellectual pursuits.

On Site Competitions:

Noetic Math Learning Contest (Fall): Completed

Our Fall Noetic math contest was a great success! Many of our leopards won prizes:

3rd and 5th grade teams placed in the top 10% of all participating schools in the US; our 3rd grade teams won 1st place.
17 students won the Honor Roll medals (scored in the top 10% of all participants)
18 students won the Honorable Mention Ribbons (scored in the top 50%)
5 students had a perfect score!

Contest date: 4/7/2026, 4:10 - 5pm

Test format: paper and pencil, write in numerical answers. 20 words questions

Test duration: 45mins

Grades: 2-5 (Advanced 1st grade may compete as 2nd grade)

Fee: $20

Registration opens: 2/20 noon.

Closes: 3/6 noon
