<ACTION FOR PARENTS>

  • Join Lakeview PTSA via Membership Toolkit - Also includes access to Lakeview Parent Directory (opt-in)!
  • Library Book Drive - Still accepting donations for hardcover books to Library
  • Help Needed | School Play - Studio East will help direct play with 4th and 5th grade kids, but will need parent help to coordinate rehearsals, costs, etc. Kristin Rankovic has already volunteered, but still looking for one more person. Please let Jennifer and Andrea know if you are interested. 
  • Help Needed | Dance Night - If parent is interested in organizing Dance Night April 14 or 15, please let Jennifer/Andrea know.
  • Help Needed | Lakeview Auction Night - Any parents to help with donating items, organizing, getting sponsorship please let us know!  Planning for Oct 1, 2022.

  • <ACTION OWNER: Renee> - Confirm with Reflection Lakeview submissions who went to district if we can recognize them and share their work on our website/FB page.

  1. FRAZIER UPDATE 
  • Thursday, Mar 10 @ 6:30pm via Teams 

 

  • Mask Mandate Changes 
    • Teachers will be communicating with students to respect individual choices.
    • Lakeview has been following the most strict guidelines to ensure safety of our students.  Over the next few weeks we will be lifting restrictions (e.g., office area is now open, playground open afterschool, etc.)
    • …and Yes - Parents can volunteer!  Teachers can request and/or parents can ask

 

CO-PRESIDENT REPORT - Andrea and Jennifer

 

PAST PROGRAM UPDATES

 

  • Bundt Cake Fundraising & Teacher Appreciation 
      • 806 cakes ordered.  30% of proceeds donated to Lakeview PTSA
      • ~$1300 donested to Lakeview PTSA
      • Winner for most cakes sold: Elise Tsuchida (1st Grade) sold 66 cakes!
      • Thanks to Meli, Grace, Heidi! Wrote cards for each staff/teachers + 3 cakes, also filled the staff lounge with snacks and drinks :) 
      • From Staff – TRULY AMAZING!!  …remembered everyone!!

 

  • Library Book Drive 
    • Received 300+ books and received popular books kids would like to borrow and read.  If you still have any hardcover books to donate, greatly appreciated!
  • Logo Contest
    • 20-25 logo entries!!  Plan is to narrow down to 5-6 logo entries and hang up in the hallway for classrooms to vote on the winner.  Will also showcase on social channels. 
    • Selected winner entry - will work to “polish” so new leopard logo can be used on communications/swag, etc.
    • Plan to have all entries maybe turned into stickers to share with the students.
    • We will then launch Spirit Week for our new leopard logo.  PTSA will look into providing some sort of swag for all students so they can have something with the new logo.
    • Great turnout and kids very excited! …Thinking to have something art-oriented going forward each year.

 

UPCOMING PROGRAMS & DATES

 

  • March 28 School Play Parent Informational Meeting 
    • Launching this year – Peter Pan – 4th and 5th graders for 50 kids to participate
    • Production by Studio East
    • Sending Signup Genius to help gauge interest (not necessarily meaning to volunteer)
    • March 28 - Parent meeting, then auditions the following week 
    • April 18 - May 12 - Practice and school (M-Th from 4-6pm, Wed)
    • May 20-21 - Show time @ Lakeview gym
    • April 11-15 Dance Week! (Mr. Owens and Ms. Brackett)
      • Will be part of the school day
      • Dance Night?  If parent volunteer is interested in organizing, please let Jennifer/Andrea know.
    • May 2-18 Readathon Fundraiser (Ms. Davidson)
      • This will be the Lakeview PTSA Main Fundraiser event for the school year.
      • More details coming out soon!

 

  • May 5 - Science Fair (Ms. Brown, Laura Ono)
  • Late May Bike to School Day (Barbara)
  • Classes are Planning End of Year Field Trips
  • TBD Planning a ParentEd Film (Race to be Human) 
      • Sharing costs with Peter Kirk and Kirkland Middle School PTSA
      • Lakeview PTSA received marked donation to cover the cost for this film

 

  • Oct 1, 2022 - Lakeview Auction Night (Fatema) 
    • Goal: To build covered spaces, tables/seating for the playground/Google field.
    • Any parents to help with donating items, organizing, getting sponsorship please let us know!

 

BEHIND THE SCENES PTSA PROGRAMS

 

  • PTSA Communications Team 
      • Reviewing all communications channels and messaging and having better communications across all platforms
      • Creating “New Family to Lakeview” Introduction content to share with new families, additional Grace has volunteered to meet with new families (Gemma, Grace, Heather)

 

  • Sponsored Teacher Grants 
    • $3500 has been budgeted for teacher grants and this has been distributed across ~7 teachers.
    • Kim Biddle has been working with Heather on processing these requests
    • One grant received was for the library which provided some new books and added a sensory library for students to use
