The Lakeview Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential educational enrichment for our students at Lakeview.  To do this, we recruit and manage volunteers and fundraise donations to support our many programs.

 

Our PTSA board members and leaders are mostly working parents who volunteer their time and talent to support Lakeview.  So if your kiddo has enjoyed their experience at any of our PTSA events this year – the ice cream social, family game night or any other PTSA enrichment event or class – please join us to keep the good times rolling.

 

This year many of our long-serving PTSA leaders will depart Lakeview (with their 5th graders), so now is the perfect time for fresh new ideas, energy and leadership to light up Lakeview’s future!  Please join us!

 

Open Board Positions for the 2024-2025 school year include:

  • Director of School Services: Coordinates with school on school hosted events and equity programs. (ie vision & hearing test, book fair, STEM, nutrition, etc.)
  • STEM Co-chair: Responsible for promoting STEM education within our community and leading STEM related events. (Math competition, Math challenge, etc.)
  • Advocacy Chair:  Brings information and issues relating to children and education to the attention of the General Membership and advises them on what they can do to make their opinion heard.
  • Volunteer Co-chairs: Manages the volunteer recruitment process, maintain list of volunteers and oversee volunteer engagement.
  • Room Parent Liaison: Facilitates communication between Class Room Parents and PTSA and supports the PTSA in needs that may arise.
  • Yearbook Team: We are looking for two members to collect photos from classroom photographers and edit yearbook pages for the school yearbook.

What the PTSA does?

 

So far, this year the PTSA brought to Lakeview:

  • Family Events like the Ice Cream Social, Trunk or Treat, the Art Walk, and Family Game Night
  • School community programs like back-to-school supplies for all kids, Winter Wishes for families, weekly Pantry Packs, and warm winter coats
  • Art Program - an at school art program run by volunteers.
  • Math Programs - weekly challenges and quarterly competitions!
  • Teacher and staff grants for classroom projects and supplies.
  • Before & after school enrichment classes for K-5 students that include language, coding, drama, robotics, soccer, dance, science, and magic! 

Looking ahead, we have some exciting events planned including:

  • More events like: Lakeview science fair, Dance Night, and end of year Carnival 
  • More enrichment classes including Primary Choir! 
  • Half Marathon
  • Field trip scholarships
  • 5th grade Graduation Ceremony
